(Construction) - On the afternoon of May 13, Hai Phong City held a launching ceremony for the investment project to build a coastal road section through Hai Phong city and 9km through Thai Binh province with a total investment capital of about 3,500 billion VND, construction time is 30 months. This is one of the practical activities to celebrate the 62nd anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day (May 13, 1955 - May 13, 2017).
Attending the ceremony were Politburo member, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Dinh Toan and leaders of ministries, central branches and localities where the project passes.

This is the first groundbreaking ceremony in the major northern coastal traffic development project with a total length of more than 500km from Quang Ninh to Thanh Hoa. The major project will go through 6 provinces and cities, located in the detailed coastal road planning approved by the Prime Minister in 2010 and allowed to be deployed in each locality.
The project section through Hai Phong city has a length of 29km, including 20km through localities: Tien Lang, Kien Thuy, Do Son (Hai Phong) and 9km in Thai Thuy district (Thai Binh), total investment is 3,460 billion VND.
In the first phase, the entire route is designed according to the scale of a level III plain road, class A1 structure, 12m wide roadbed with 2 motor vehicle lanes, speed reaching 80km/h, especially the section from intersection TL361 (Km4+855 ) to the new NH37 intersection (on the Thai Binh side), designing geometric elements to ensure the scale of the highway reaches a speed of 100km/h. There are 8 bridges on the entire route, two large bridges are the bridge over the Van Uc river and the bridge over the Thai Binh river
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Van Thanh, Secretary of Hai Phong City Party Committee emphasized: This is a project of special importance in developing regional connectivity, promoting socio-economic development, ensure national defense and security, exploit land fund well, create jobs for people of 6 provinces and cities where the project passes through. The completed project shortens travel time, connects traffic, and reduces traffic on national highways. In that spirit, departments, branches and localities with roads need to strengthen propaganda work, speed up site clearance work, and ensure the project is completed on schedule.
It is known that the project is a joint venture of investors including Construction Corporation No. 1 (JSC) - Bui Vu Construction and Investment Joint Stock Company - Vietnam Urban and Industrial Park Development Investment Corporation (LLC) – Transport Infrastructure Investment and Development Joint Stock Company 9 (CIENCO 9) proposed implementation in the form of public-private partnership PPP, the project is expected to be completed in 2019.
