On December 9, 2023, CC1 and the contractor consortium attended the handover ceremony of sand mine documents for construction of component project 4 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang highway construction investment project (phase Phase 1) organized by the People's Committee of Soc Trang province.
Attending the ceremony were representatives of the Vietnam Highway Administration, Project Management Board 2 (Project Management Board 2), leaders of Soc Trang province, CC1 representatives and contractors of the project's joint venture.
Pursuant to Resolution No. 106 dated November 28, 2023 of the National Assembly on piloting a number of specific policies on investment in road construction and Resolution No. 56 dated October 6, 2023 of the Provincial People's Council Soc Trang on using minerals as common construction materials to provide for Project Component 4 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Construction Investment Project (phase 1), Soc Provincial People's Committee Trang has directed the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to coordinate with Project Management Board 2 and related units to survey and prepare basic sand mines to complete the procedures. At the ceremony, representatives of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province handed over documents of 5 sand mines with a total area of over 450 hectares and reserves of about 11,035,343 m3 to CC1 and the contractor consortium.
Accordingly, CC1 needs to use sand for road embankment, in package number 12 is 1,451,499 m3, assigned a sand mine with an area of 52.9 hectares, reserves of 1,190,520 m3, in Nhon My commune, district. Ke Sach and sand mine has an area of 167.93 hectares, reserve of 2,518,950 m3, located in An Thanh Dong commune, Cu Lao Dung district. These sand mines are located in Hau River, in Soc Trang province, bordering Tra Vinh province.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Mr. Tran Van Lau - Chairman of Soc Trang Provincial People's Committee said: "Handing over the sand mine to the contractor is a local effort, with the hope that the project will be completed soon and ensure quality.”. Mr. Lau requested the contractor during the exploitation process to ensure the correct designation, correct location, correct transportation, and correct use for the expressway project.
Representative of the contractor, Mr. Hoang Trung Thanh - Deputy General Director of Traffic - Technical Infrastructure CC1 sent his deep thanks to representatives of local Departments, branches, Project Management Board 2 and relevant parties for their guidance, Support joint venture businesses to complete their work well. CC1 commits that the sand mine will only supply the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project as well as seriously implement environmental protection according to the approved EIA (environmental impact assessment).
Previously, on September 20, 2023, CC1 officially received the handover of the sand mine to supply the Can Tho - Hau Giang and Hau Giang - Ca Mau expressway projects, implementing exploitation according to the mechanism of the Decree No. Resolution No. 43/2022/QH15 dated January 11, 2022 of the National Assembly and Resolution No. 18/NQ - CP dated February 11, 2022 of the Government. CC1 is the first contractor trusted by the Ministry of Transport and My Thuan Project Management Board to introduce to Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee as the focal point to carry out procedures to open a new sand mine and exploit it with a total reserve of about 1.52 million m3. .
The Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project will start construction in June 2023. This is the first horizontal highway in the Mekong Delta connecting the region with the national highway system with a total investment of nearly 44.7 trillion VND. The project is expected to be one of six expressways that will change the face of the Mekong Delta, while connecting economic centers, international border gates and seaports.
