(Ho Chi Minh City, September 6, 2024) At the topping-out ceremony of the Phu Tho Multi-purpose Circus and Performance Project (District 11) this morning, the leader of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports said that the project is closely following the schedule, maintaining a steadfast spirit to promptly carry out the performance program to celebrate the 50th anniversary of national reunification on April 30, 2025.
Attending the topping out ceremony, on behalf of the agencies and departments, there was the presence of Mr. Karl Van den Bossche - Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium, Mr. Tran The Thuan - Member of the City Party Committee, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports, Mr. Huynh Minh Hung - Deputy Director of the Civil and Industrial Department. On behalf of the design consultant and the contractor consortium, there was the participation of Mr. Pham Minh Nhut - Representative of Afmea Circus Group (Kingdom of Belgium), Mr. Dinh Van Hung - Deputy General Director in charge of Civil and Industrial Construction of CC1 and representatives of the leaders of the consulting units supervising and directly participating in the construction of the project.
At the ceremony, Mr. Tran The Thuan, representative of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized the important role of the project in the development of Ho Chi Minh City's cultural industry and the connection and promotion of cooperation through cultural fields, in the process of integration and development domestically and internationally. He highly appreciated the efforts of individuals, collectives of construction units, and consulting and supervising units with a steadfast spirit, closely following progress and performing work effectively, ensuring safety and quality in the past time. He hoped that the units would continue to carry out the following construction works to achieve the goal of putting the project into use on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of national reunification on April 30, 2025.
Reporting on the project construction status, Mr. Huynh Minh Hung, representative of the Project Management Board of Civil and Industrial Construction, said that up to now, the project has met the highest construction standards and is in the key stages to be completed in 2025. The workload in the next phase is very large, requiring close coordination between the investor, project management board and construction units to ensure factors of progress, quality and safety management.
Responding to the investor's expectations, the representative of the CC1 - Luu Nguyen Contractor Joint Venture, Mr. Dinh Van Hung - Deputy General Director of CC1 shared that after 16 months of construction, despite many challenges and difficulties, with the determination and great efforts of the contractor joint venture and the support of the investor, project management board, and supervision consultant, the project has completed the construction of the rough structure as committed. In the coming time, the CC1 - Luu Nguyen Contractor Joint Venture will quickly continue the construction work, closely follow the progress, and successfully bring the project to the finish line.
The Phu Tho Circus and Multi-purpose Performance Construction Project started on April 25, 2023 with a total investment of VND 1,390 billion with an investment scale of 2,000 seats and a 300-seat multi-purpose training room; land use area is 10,000 m2This is a key project of group A in the field of Culture - Sports.
This is not only the pride of Ho Chi Minh City but also a new symbol of the city's cultural development. In the future, this will be a place to perform, preserve and develop circus and puppetry; a training and education center, and a combination organization with other art forms. The project will be completed in the second quarter of 2025 and is expected to become one of the city's typical works with a modern style but still preserving the traditional cultural materials of Vietnam.
