During his working trip on November 20, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha visited and worked at the construction site of Construction Corporation No. 1 (CC1) of the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway project, one of the national key projects in the expressway network in the Mekong Delta region.
The Can Tho – Ca Mau Expressway is over 110km long. The total investment is over VND 27,500 billion, started in January 2023, and is expected to be completed in 2025. The project is divided into two component projects: Can Tho – Hau Giang and Hau Giang – Ca Mau.
Upon arrival, the Deputy Prime Minister visited the main construction areas, directly monitored the progress of important sections and listened to reports from CC1 leaders on the construction progress. The representative of the unit said that the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway project has currently reached about 65% of work volume. The concrete piles and roadbed items have been deployed synchronously, ensuring the set schedule, despite facing challenges in weather and weak soil conditions typical of the area.
During the trip, he spent a lot of time discussing in-depth with the team of engineers and workers about technical solutions to deal with the complex geological conditions. He required the team not only to complete the project on schedule but also to comply with strict standards of quality and labor safety. At the same time, he paid special attention to environmental protection during the project implementation, asking CC1 to strengthen measures to minimize the impact on the local ecosystem.
During the tour, the Deputy Prime Minister visited each construction team, asked about the working situation and life of the workers, as well as listened to the difficulties and wishes of the team at the site. At the same time, to encourage the working spirit, he presented gifts and sent deep encouragement to outstanding individuals. The Deputy Prime Minister's words of encouragement added to the team's spirit, motivating all CC1 employees to strive to overcome difficulties.
Speaking at the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the organizational capacity and sense of responsibility of CC1. He also emphasized the importance of the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway project not only in connecting the region but also as a driving force for economic development, improving the quality of life for millions of people in the West. He expressed his hope that CC1, with its extensive experience, will continue to maintain professionalism, creativity, and solidarity with relevant parties to complete the project on schedule by 2025, contributing to changing the face of traffic in the Mekong Delta region.
Construction Corporation No. 1 (CC1) has affirmed its solid position in the transport infrastructure construction industry through a series of national strategic highway projects. In addition to the Can Tho - Ca Mau project, CC1 is also undertaking the construction of many other large projects such as the North - South Eastern Expressway and the Van Phong - Nha Trang Expressway, especially in key sections with weak geology. With a team of experienced engineers and modern construction technology, CC1 always meets strict requirements on progress and quality. Not only completing important projects, CC1 also makes its mark with a sense of responsibility, making great contributions to socio-economic development and traffic connectivity across the country, helping to promote integration and sustainable development./.
