On the afternoon of December 15, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited and worked at the construction site of Construction Corporation No. 1 (CC1) of the Can Tho-Ca Mau expressway construction investment project passing through Hau Giang province.
Also attending were Minister of Transport Tran Hong Minh, leaders of ministries, leaders of localities in the Mekong Delta and the project management board of CC1.
Upon arrival, the Prime Minister visited the main construction areas, directly monitored the project's construction progress and listened to reports from CC1 leaders on the construction progress. Accordingly, the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway project has basically completed the site clearance work, with only a small area (about 200m) remaining in Can Tho, ensuring the set schedule despite facing challenges in weather and weak soil conditions typical of the area.
Throughout the working session, the Prime Minister spent a lot of time discussing in depth with the team of engineers and workers about technical solutions to deal with complex geological conditions. He asked the team to shorten the construction time while still ensuring quality, labor safety and minimizing the impact on the local ecosystem.
To encourage the working spirit, he visited the working situation, listened to the wishes of the construction team and presented gifts to outstanding individuals. The Prime Minister's deep encouragement has further motivated all CC1 employees to strive to overcome difficulties.
In his concluding remarks, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh reiterated that the Mekong Delta has two bottlenecks in terms of transport infrastructure and human resources. The Party and the State are very interested in resolving and removing these two bottlenecks for the Mekong Delta, with a roadmap, timetable, and steps appropriate to the country's circumstances and conditions. According to the plan, by 2030, the Mekong Delta will have 1,200 km of expressway and we are determined to achieve this goal.
He expressed his hope that CC1, with its 45-year history of formation and development and extensive experience, will continue to promote, work together, and coordinate with relevant parties to open the entire North-South expressway in the east (from Cao Bang - Lang Son to Ca Mau) by December 31, 2025.
Construction Corporation No. 1 (CC1) has affirmed its solid position in the transport infrastructure construction industry through a series of national strategic highway projects. In addition to the Can Tho - Ca Mau highway project, CC1 is also undertaking the construction of many other large projects such as the North - South Eastern Expressway and the Van Phong - Nha Trang Expressway, especially in key sections with weak geology. With a team of experienced engineers and modern construction technology, CC1 always meets strict requirements on progress and quality. Not only completing important projects, CC1 also makes its mark with a sense of responsibility, making great contributions to socio-economic development and traffic connectivity across the country, helping to promote integration and sustainable development./.
