On the morning of January 5, 2025, Construction Corporation No. 1 - JSC (CC1) held the closing ceremony of Dai Ngai 2 Bridge on National Highway 60 in the provinces of Tra Vinh - Soc Trang.
This event marks an important milestone in the project's completion progress since the project's Groundbreaking Ceremony took place on October 15, 2023.
The closing ceremony of Dai Ngai 2 Bridge took place in a solemn atmosphere with the participation of Mr. Lam Van Man, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Soc Trang Province; Ms. Ho Thi Cam Dao, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Tran Van Long, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and representatives of local departments, branches and sectors. On the side of the Ministry of Transport, there was the participation of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hoai, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction Management and Quality of Transport Works; Mr. Vuong Dinh Dong, Deputy Director of Project Management Board 85. On the side of CC1, the contractor, there was the participation of Mr. Nguyen Duc Long, Executive Director and Project Commander; Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hung, Head of the Communications Department, and managers of related departments.
It is known that the Dai Ngai Bridge construction investment project on National Highway 60 in Tra Vinh and Soc Trang provinces is a group A project, a special-level road traffic project with a total investment of 7,962.148 billion VND, the investment capital is from the State budget.
The project has a total route length of about 15.14km, starting point intersecting with National Highway 54, in Hung Hoa commune, Tieu Can district, Tra Vinh province; ending point intersecting with National Highway Nam Song Hau, in Long Duc commune, Long Phu district, Soc Trang province; the project includes 02 main bridge works (Dai Ngai 1 and Dai Ngai 2 bridges) fully invested with 4 lanes, the investment part of the route is divided into phases with phase 1 including 2 lanes, cross-section width is 12.0m, design speed is 80km/h, high-class road surface A1; in which: Dai Ngai 1 bridge is 2,560m long, the cross-section of the bridge is 19.0m wide, the main bridge is a cable-stayed bridge structure with a main span length of L=450m, the second largest in Vietnam after completion (after Can Tho bridge L=550m and equal to Vam Cong bridge), Dai Ngai 2 bridge is 862m long, the cross-section of the bridge is 17.5m wide, the main bridge is a cantilever bridge structure with a total length of 330m. Contract implementation period is from October 2023 to December 2025.
Dai Ngai 2 Bridge is designed with a permanent reinforced concrete structure, ensuring a 100-year lifespan, including 13 Super T spans 40m long and 3 main spans constructed using modern cantilever technology. The project has a standard 120x11m navigation bay, meeting international traffic requirements and safety standards.
The project's completion progress has exceeded the plan by 7 months. The bridge is expected to be technically opened to traffic on April 30, the 50th anniversary of national reunification, making an important contribution to the socio-economic development of the region and the whole country.
This is a strategic project, an important coastal traffic axis connecting the provinces of the Mekong Delta (MD). The completion and operation of the Dai Ngai Bridge will improve the transport capacity of the MD, create convenient traffic connections between the southern coastal provinces and Ho Chi Minh City, shorten the distance from Ho Chi Minh City to Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, Ca Mau provinces by about 80km, reduce the increasing traffic pressure on National Highway 1A, meet the increasing traffic demand when Dinh An economic zone, Tran De industrial zone, Dai Ngai, An Nghiep, My Thanh... come into operation, and at the same time increase the ability to ensure national security for the southern coastal area.
