According to the plan, at 10:00 a.m. on December 22, 2024, Ho Chi Minh City's transportation system will enter a new phase of development when metro line No. 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) officially comes into operation. This is the first public transportation project, carrying great expectations for a more modern and sustainable urban appearance. In this landmark achievement, Construction Corporation No. 1 - JSC (CC1) is proud to make its mark by completing iconic underground stations: City Theater Station and Ba Son Station.
Ho Chi Minh City Metro Line 1 is 19.7 km long, including 3 underground stations and 11 elevated stations, connecting the center of Ho Chi Minh City with the Suoi Tien area. With a maximum speed of 80 km/h underground and 110 km/h elevated, the metro train shortens the travel time from Ben Thanh Station to Suoi Tien to only 30 minutes. Each train travels between underground stations such as the City Theater and Ba Son in just 1-2 minutes, providing convenience and a modern, civilized public transport experience, contributing to solving traffic pressure and realizing the dream of a convenient transport network for Ho Chi Minh City.
In this key project, CC1 has undertaken the construction of two most important underground stations, the City Theater and Ba Son. These are not only key projects in terms of connectivity but also demonstrate CC1’s capacity and commitment to creating sustainable values for the city.
Located in the heart of District 1, the Opera House Station is a modern design with a length of 190m, a width of 26m and a depth of about 33m, including four floors and five entrances. CC1 has demonstrated its outstanding ability to complete the project on schedule while ensuring the highest technical quality. Continuing the journey, Ba Son station, with a length of 240m, a width of more than 34m and a depth of 20m, plays a strategic role in connecting the center of Ho Chi Minh City with Thu Thiem New Urban Area and the High-Tech Park. The station is designed with two modern floors, is user-friendly and integrates advanced construction technologies to optimize the efficiency of space use. In particular, the completion of Ba Son station two months ahead of schedule has affirmed CC1's project management capacity and sense of responsibility.
